Untitled

I don’t really have a title for this one, it’s just kinda rambling.

After two weeks I’ve been able to win the “popularity contest” or whatever it is that gets you new medals in Campaign. So I got my Sterling Star SS medal back, after i lost it from not playing for 8 months. I guess this means I get new Campaign Ops, but I think that’s about it. Not really sure…

Anyways, I haven’t had the time to try out the new Level Sync, but I heard from a ton of people that it really fucks up your equipment stats.. really badly. I’d like to try it out though soon, just to say I did.

I’ve obviously been hanging out on Alphonze a lot lately.. I’ve been a little frustrated with Hennig. I forgot how hard it was to do anything without a sub job, let alone get a party. I may abandon this venture again, just like all the other times and just play around on Alphonze again like I used to. It seems to be more fun that way.

Oh, I’ve decided to try and complete the WotG mission line up till whatever the most recent one is, the story seems pretty sweet, and I’d like to keep on top of the missions for the next patch. And after I’ve finished all the Bastok [S] quests I think I’ll hop over to San d’Oria and do theirs and then Windurst’s. Despite the fact that surviving in the past is pretty difficult, I’m having quite a bit of fun again.

…even though I only get about 5 minutes between campaign battles in Bastok Markets [S]…

Yeah, that’s about it for now, not sure what else to talk about right now.

Counting down the days…

So I’ve been really  having second thoughts about continuing playing again. I don’t really feel the drive to do it anymore for some reason. I feel like so much has changed since I stopped playing 8 months ago. I don’t really get it to be honest. When I reactivated my accounts I was excited to start playing again, and then two weeks later I started to feel like there was no point.

Hopefully this level sync feature will help me to find something to keep playing again. That way I’ll be able to do the CoP missions without going broke before each one. Plus being able to party with all my friends again with any  job would be cool.

That’s about all I’m excited for in this update, but hopefully there’s something more that’ll help keep me interested, because at this rate I may not be playing for much longer again.

And so the story continues…

Took me three weeks, which could be due to how severely sidetracked I got with Bastok storyline and quests and a full time job, but I’m finally in the dunes. I’m in a party right now.. actually the first one with this character.. and I’m really enjoying myself so far. That’s so odd to say, considering dunes suck, but I am.

The nostalgia of running through Konschtat Highlands all by myself and dodging in between goblins and other evil cretons that seem to have an unhealthy obsession with my meaty organs was so amazing. It just brought back so many memories of the old days.

But yeah, other than that, I guess this is a pretty cool thing starting over. I was honestly afraid that I would abandon this and go back to Alphonze like I had with all my other attempts, but I’ve stuck with it and I think I’ll be in for awhile.

Not much of a post, just more of an update of what I’ve been doing. Have a picture.

Well. . . I’m back!

That’s right, after six months I’ve finally returned. I finally have a job, and with my current decision to drop out of college, I thought it would be a good idea to come back and see everyone I’ve missed. And miss it I did. . .

Except Campaign. It sucks now, and that’s about all I can say about it. Logging in in Bastok Markets[S] just freaking sucks. There is always a Campaign battle going on and when it ends I get 5 fucking minutes to talk to NPCs before another one starts -_-; lame. I miss the old Campaign.

However. . . in an attempt to regain that simple magic of being in a new world, I decided I would make a new character. . .

Say hello to Hennig! He’s a level 5 Hume Warrior and I’ve enjoyed all of the 3 hours I’ve played with him so far. I started doing the Bastok missions all over again and wandered around Zeruhn Mines as required for the first one. . . And I got lost! I was so happy!

I know it seems lame to be excited about something so small. But needing to find my way out with no help whatsoever felt so good. It was just like the old days when I first started playing, except this time I don’t have my closest friend to wander around with. . . that part makes me sad.

But yeah, I’m going to return to playing, maybe I’ll get lost somewhere else!

Well.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot. A lot a lot. And I’m considering returning to Final Fantasy. I’ve been mulling it over for the past couple of weeks. There’s been so much that’s happened to me in the past two months that I’ve needed a form of escape and nothing else has done much.

To put it simply, Final Fantasy had always been there for me when I needed someone but no one was ever there. It was that one thing that made me feel good about my life. I miss everyone that I cared so much about and I would very much like to see them again. Since I left, I have fallen out of touch with all but a few and it really sucks.

Oh well, it was bound to happen. I hope to be back soon though.

I doubt anyone even reads this, but I needed a place to write. But I’m done now.

Bye.

Okay so yeah. .

My baby is fixed now (and I’m actually typing this with it) and so I can play FFXI again. Thankfully my computer wasn’t wiped when they took it in. Now there’s a catch here. . .

In the time that they took my compute, my credit card expired. Well, I should say it’s my parents old card, because when I started I didn’t have a bank account. So it’s expired now, and I can’t play FFXI till I give a new number. But being in college and all. . . I have no money, and I’m too proud to ask my parents, so I guess I may not be playing for a while longer. At least till I get a job.

I miss all of my friends on Remora though, I hope to be back soon!

Where have I been?

Well… I shut down my computer the 28th and when I tried to boot it the next morning it wouldn’t power on. Well… it did power on, but only for 5 seconds and shut down. I’ve tried doing a hard reset, reseating the RAM, and reseating the hard drives but got nothing. Apparently there’s a cable loose behind the LCD screen but I don’t wanna mess with it so I’m gonna send it in.

The box will arrive in the next couple of days, and i should have my computer back to me in about 2 weeks. So no FFXI for me till then I suppose. I wish I could play, at least for the event, but I can’t.

Oh well. See you in a couple of weeks.

Wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday

Didn’t have anything to say about Saturday’s linkshell event because I missed it (father’s birthday; way more important). I heard the event went quite well though, which is good.

Either way, wanted to wish everyone a happy Christmas, or whatever you happen to celebrate. Hope everyone has a good holiday.

Sky again, where were you?

Okay so tonight was pretty awesome. Got to sky about an hour early and there were only 3 other people in Ru’Aun, all of which were AFK so I was free to coffer hunt. Searched the two mainland spots and got nothin, and Seiryu and Genbu islands turned up nothing. . but as soon as I got off the teleporter on Byakko island and there it was, just waiting to be opened. Thankfully I had my key this time and now I finally have my map of one of the sky zones.

So that aside, we did gods tonight in sky. Killed Suzaku and Seiryu, Des got M.Head, which turns into Koenig Schaller, so I think I’m next in line for it. Anyways. . . guess who killed Suzaku? That’s right. Me.

I’m just that cool.

Anyways. . . we killed Byakko. . . and I died go figure. And then I got to wander through Ru’Avitau because I missed the escape. So the alliance killed Brigandish Blade and I felt completely useless because I screwed up and missed that escape. We moved on to Faust to finish up the run, which was pretty interesting. I got booted from the main party so I was screwed out of even backup tanking him and just got to watch.

That pretty much sums it up, so I’m gonna go sleep now finally.

A work in progress

So I’m waiting on the Starlight Celebration event to start, and I thought I’d talk about my recent ideas. Lately I’ve decided I’d have another try at ninja, so I finished all the AF quests and whatnot and started to gear up. Problem is: I’m dead broke, again. I’ve managed to get some decent gear already, some of which I quested, like my Nokizaru Gi that I got from the subligar quest.

I know it’s nothing fancy, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

I’ve got to upgrade a piece or two of what I currently have as well, but here’s what it is in list:

  • Yoto +1 (2)
  • Nokizaru Gi
  • Federation tekko
  • Ninja Hakama
  • Windurstian kyahan (till I can get HQ version)
  • Life Belt/Swordbelt +1
  • High breath mantle
  • Spike necklace

It’s not fantastic, yet. I need to get an Emp. Hairpin, along with various accessories and leg armor for swap out during the day. But right now I’m very broke, so I’m tryin to get some cash.

Not exactly a glorious update, but I need somethin to do while I wait for the event to start. But that doesn’t matter either since no one reads this I guess. I’ll probably update again after Sky tomorrow evening.
